Zarb-e-Azb has achieved vi­tal suc­cess: Pres­i­dent

Pres­i­dent Mam­noon Hus­sain said that Op­er­a­tion Zarb-e-Azb has achieved sig­nif­i­cant suc­cesses and em­pha­sized that the govern­ment is de­ter­mined to con­tinue the op­er­a­tion till com­plete elim­i­na­tion of the last ter­ror­ist.

The Pres­i­dent said this while talk­ing to Gov­er­nor Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa, Sar­dar Me­htab Ahmed Khan, who called on him at the Ai­wan-eSadr, Is­lam­abad on Wed­nes­day. The Pres­i­dent un­der­lined the need to in­tro­duce con­struc­tive re­forms in Fed­er­ally Ad­min­is­tered Tribal Area (FATA) to ad­dress the is­sues of the peo­ple of the re­gion adding that the govern­ment was sin­cerely tak­ing mea­sures in this re­gard by tak­ing all the stake­hold­ers on board. The Pres­i­dent said that the govern­ment was com­mit­ted to bring the re­gion at par with other ar­eas of the coun­try by com­plet­ing on­go­ing de­vel­op­ment projects and pro­vid­ing so­cioe­co­nomic ameni­ties to im­prove the stan­dard of life of the peo­ple of the area. Un­der­scor­ing the dig­ni­fied re­turn of Tem­po­rar­ily Dis­placed Per­sons (TDPs) to their na­tive ar­eas, the Pres­i­dent stated that timely repa­tri­a­tion and re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion of TDPs was top pri­or­ity of the govern­ment adding that the dam­aged in­fra­struc­ture would be re­built and eco­nomic in­cen­tives would be pro­vided for bring­ing the life back to nor­malcy in the re­gion.

The Pres­i­dent ap­pre­ci­ated the im­proved se­cu­rity sit­u­a­tion in FATA and KPK and com­mended Sar­dar Me­htab Ahmed Khan for tak­ing steps for the wel­fare of the peo­ple. Mean­while, Pres­i­dent Mam­noon Hus­sain has said that Na­tional Vo­ca­tional & Tech­ni­cal Train­ing Com­mis­sion (NAVTTC) is ren­der­ing com­mend­able ser­vices by im­part­ing tech­ni­cal skills to the youth in or­der to raise their so­cial and eco­nomic pro­file and en­able them to play their role in the na­tional de­vel­op­ment. The Pres­i­dent said this while talk­ing to Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor NAVTTC, Mr. Zul­fiqar Cheema, who called on him at the Ai­wan-e-Sadr, Is­lam­abad on Wed­nes­day. The Pres­i­dent said that the govern­ment is com­mit­ted to build the ca­pac­ity of the youth through var­i­ous skill de­vel­op­ment pro­grammes en­abling them to get dif­fer­ent vo­ca­tional and tech­ni­cal jobs thereby re­duc­ing un­em­ploy­ment in the coun­try. The Pres­i­dent asked the ED NAVTTC to es­tab­lish link­ages among var­i­ous stake­hold­ers at the na­tional as well as in­ter­na­tional level in or­der to make the tech­ni­cal pro­grammes more ef­fec­tive.
