PIA, pri­vate air­line planes avoid ac­ci­dent

Two planes from Pak­istan In­ter­na­tional Air­line (PIA) and Sha­heen Air­line came head to head ear­lier on Thurs­day near Gwadar and barely avoided the col­li­sion as the na­tional air­line's pi­lot showed great pres­ence of mind, sav­ing the day for both the planes as well as the pas­sen­gers. The in­quiry into the mat­ter has be­gun.

Ac­cord­ing to Civil Avi­a­tion sources, PIA and Sha­heen Air­line planes sud­denly came close and within the range of a col­li­sion, but the ter­ri­ble ac­ci­dent was avoided some­how cour­tesy great pres­ence of mind dis­played by the PIA pi­lot.

The sources told that the traf­fic con­trollers at Civil Avi­a­tion is­sued di­rec­tions to both the pi­lots but both ig­nored the warn­ings due to which the planes came closer to a col­li­sion. The sources told that the Sha­heen Air­line pi­lot changed his fre­quency with­out in­for­ma­tion due to which the PIA pi­lot also had to face the prob­lem. The in­quiry into the mat­ter has also been started.
