NADRA earns Rs 6b profit in cur­rent year

Na­tional Data­base Reg­is­tra­tion (NADRA), which faced a loss of Rs 1.68 bil­lion in fis­cal year 2011-12, has earned an un­prece­dented net profit of Rs 6 bil­lion dur­ing the cur­rent cal­en­dar year. This was in­formed dur­ing a briefing held here at In­te­rior Min­istry Mon­day with In­te­rior Min­is­ter Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in the chair.

The meet­ing of the heads of civil de­part­ments of In­te­rior Min­istry re­viewed among oth­ers the over­all work­ing of the min­istry and var­i­ous de­part­ments, the progress made so far on new poli­cies re­gard­ing pri­vate se­cu­rity com­pa­nies, bul­let proof­ing of ve­hi­cles and arms li­cens­ing and other re­lated is­sues.

The NADRA Chair­man, while briefing the min­is­ter, said the year 2015 was an­other suc­cess story vis-…-vis bet­ter­ment of ser­vice de­liv­ery and op­er­a­tional pro­fi­ciency, im­prove­ment of the over­all work­ing and cleans­ing of the or­ga­ni­za­tion from cor­rupt and in­ef­fi­cient el­e­ments.

The min­is­ter ex­pressed sat­is­fac­tion over the profit earned by NADRA and di­rected its chair­man to build on the gains and make greater ef­forts for fur­ther im­prove­ment in the ser­vice de­liv­ery.
