President Mamnoon Hussain has said that business and industrialist community should strive to pave the way for economic prosperity and uplifting the standard of life of the people adding that the investors should capitalize from the lucrative economic policies of the government and play their part in raising the volume of exports.

The President said this while addressing a ceremony of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Aiwan-i-Sadr, Islamabad. Federal Minister for commerce Engr. Khurram Dastgir, Governor Punjab Muhammad Rafique Rajwana and a large number of diplomats also attended the ceremony.

The President said that conflicts in the region and terrorism had destabilized our economy but now the situation has changed as the backbone of the terrorists has been broken, peace is restoring and resultantly business activities are picking up across the country and confidence of the investors is boosting up. The President stated that turnaround in the national economy is also being acknowledged by the international financial institutions. "Pakistan is the only country in the region that offers investment friendly laws under which foreign institutions and individuals can invest with hundred percent equity and can reap profits without any impediment", remarked the President.

President Mamnoon Hussain underscored that trade, like the other fields of life, warrants formulating strategies in the light of changing global scenarios so that business can flourish smoothly. It is high time to diversify our trading partners so that our commodities can reach the neglected regions of the world adding that we need to pay special attention to the fast growing economies of Africa, Central Asia and Far East.

On the occasion, the President urged the business community and industrialists to explore new markets for enhancing exports along with the traditional markets and come forward in support of economic policies pursued by the government adding that the rise in the volume of export invariably will render high profit margin for the business community. The President said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will open new opportunities and traders and industrialists should benefit from them.
