DUBAI: UAE consumers are now increasingly demanding healthy and high-quality food and the daily consumption patterns have been replaced with more calorieconscious foods and products and time-efficient services, which are delivered through a digital mode via "Apps", said Raju Jethwani, chairman of Eurostar Group. "The FMCG division is key for us where Saudi Arabia is one of our largest markets. We represent some of the biggest FMCG brands from India including Parle, Mother's Recipe, Bajaj and Godrej, to name a few. This business contributes to about 20 per cent of our overall revenue," said Jethwani. The company introduced few new ready to eat popcorns flavours in new packs at Gulfood 2016. "Given the fantastic response our gourmet ready-to-eat popcorn range Taste of California has received, we have been constantly expanding the offering under this brand. This year, we have introduced several new flavours which will be made available across retail outlets in the Middle East," added Jethwani. Recent market trends show a huge shift towards ready-to-eat and packaged gourmet foods. The demand and vis-à-vis the growth of this sector has seen a steep rise. "We have explored the potential in this sector greatly and have introduced some interesting new products here. There is an increased focus on healthy and calorie-conscious foods."
