Government moving with collective wisdom: Shehbaz
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that government is moving in the right direction with collective wisdom and efforts for dealing with the challenges being faced by Pakistan and the country will be steered out of all problems under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
He said that following the golden principle of honesty, trust and hard work, all out efforts are being made for the progress and prosperity of the country. He said that masses have expressed complete confidence in the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-N in the local bodies' elections and the elements creating hurdles in the process of national development and prosperity will face failure as before. He said that the aim of progress and prosperity of the country will be achieved under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He was talking to Member National Assembly Syed Iftikhar ul Hassan, who met him here today. President PML-N Saudi Arabia Mirza Altaf Hussain was also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that a target has been fixed to supply potable water to four crore rural population of Punjab during the next two and a half years and the institutions concerned should work with mutual coordination for its achievement.
He was addressing a meeting at Civil Secretariat through video link. Matters regarding Saaf Pani Project were reviewed on the occasion. Shehbaz Sharif directed that Saaf Pani Project should be furthered in a professional manner. He said that as Saaf Pani Project is directly linked with human health, therefore, all out resources would be made available for its implementation. Chief Executive Officer Punjab Saaf Pani Company gave a briefing on the matters relating to the project. Provincial Minister for Housing Tanvir Aslam Malik, Chairman Punjab Saaf Pani Company, MPA Kashif Padhyar, MPA Engineer Qamar ul Islam Raja, Chief Secretary, concerned secretaries and senior officials participated in the meeting through video link from Civil Secretariat while Chairman Planning & Development and DG LDA attended from Model Town.
Moreover, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has paid glowing tributes to supreme sacrifices of four army personnel including Capt. Umair who embraced martyrdom in Shawal and said that they are heroes of the nation. He said that 18 crore people of Pakistan are proud of the martyrs who laid down their lives for the country. He said that the supreme sacrifices of Shuhda for peace in the country will never be forgotten.
He said that the courage and bravery displayed by Capt. Umair Shaheed, Hawaldar Hakim Shaheed, Sepoy Rashid Shaheed and Sepoy Hameed Shaheed is highly commendable. He said that the sacrifices made for giving a safe and peaceful country to the nation will not go waste. The Chief Minister expressed deep sympathies with the families of Capt. Umair and other martyrs and also prayed for the departed souls.
