Govern­ment mov­ing with col­lec­tive wis­dom: She­hbaz

Pun­jab Chief Min­is­ter Muham­mad She­hbaz Sharif has said that govern­ment is mov­ing in the right di­rec­tion with col­lec­tive wis­dom and ef­forts for deal­ing with the chal­lenges be­ing faced by Pak­istan and the coun­try will be steered out of all prob­lems un­der the lead­er­ship of Prime Min­is­ter Muham­mad Nawaz Sharif.

He said that fol­low­ing the golden prin­ci­ple of hon­esty, trust and hard work, all out ef­forts are be­ing made for the progress and pros­per­ity of the coun­try. He said that masses have ex­pressed com­plete con­fi­dence in the lead­er­ship of Pak­istan Mus­lim League-N in the lo­cal bod­ies' elec­tions and the el­e­ments cre­at­ing hur­dles in the process of na­tional de­vel­op­ment and pros­per­ity will face fail­ure as be­fore. He said that the aim of progress and pros­per­ity of the coun­try will be achieved un­der the lead­er­ship of Prime Min­is­ter Nawaz Sharif. He was talk­ing to Mem­ber Na­tional As­sem­bly Syed Iftikhar ul Has­san, who met him here to­day. Pres­i­dent PML-N Saudi Ara­bia Mirza Altaf Hus­sain was also present on the oc­ca­sion.

Mean­while, Pun­jab Chief Min­is­ter Muham­mad She­hbaz Sharif has said that a tar­get has been fixed to sup­ply potable wa­ter to four crore ru­ral pop­u­la­tion of Pun­jab dur­ing the next two and a half years and the in­sti­tu­tions con­cerned should work with mu­tual co­or­di­na­tion for its achieve­ment.

He was ad­dress­ing a meet­ing at Civil Sec­re­tar­iat through video link. Mat­ters re­gard­ing Saaf Pani Pro­ject were re­viewed on the oc­ca­sion. She­hbaz Sharif di­rected that Saaf Pani Pro­ject should be fur­thered in a pro­fes­sional man­ner. He said that as Saaf Pani Pro­ject is di­rectly linked with hu­man health, there­fore, all out re­sources would be made avail­able for its im­ple­men­ta­tion. Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer Pun­jab Saaf Pani Com­pany gave a briefing on the mat­ters re­lat­ing to the pro­ject. Pro­vin­cial Min­is­ter for Hous­ing Tan­vir As­lam Malik, Chair­man Pun­jab Saaf Pani Com­pany, MPA Kashif Pad­h­yar, MPA En­gi­neer Qa­mar ul Is­lam Raja, Chief Sec­re­tary, con­cerned sec­re­taries and se­nior of­fi­cials par­tic­i­pated in the meet­ing through video link from Civil Sec­re­tar­iat while Chair­man Plan­ning & De­vel­op­ment and DG LDA at­tended from Model Town.

More­over, Pun­jab Chief Min­is­ter Muham­mad She­hbaz Sharif has paid glow­ing tributes to supreme sac­ri­fices of four army per­son­nel in­clud­ing Capt. Umair who em­braced mar­tyr­dom in Shawal and said that they are he­roes of the na­tion. He said that 18 crore peo­ple of Pak­istan are proud of the mar­tyrs who laid down their lives for the coun­try. He said that the supreme sac­ri­fices of Shuhda for peace in the coun­try will never be for­got­ten.

He said that the courage and brav­ery dis­played by Capt. Umair Sha­heed, Hawal­dar Hakim Sha­heed, Se­poy Rashid Sha­heed and Se­poy Hameed Sha­heed is highly com­mend­able. He said that the sac­ri­fices made for giv­ing a safe and peace­ful coun­try to the na­tion will not go waste. The Chief Min­is­ter ex­pressed deep sym­pa­thies with the fam­i­lies of Capt. Umair and other mar­tyrs and also prayed for the de­parted souls.
