Bac­calau­re­ate Gov­er­nance Sem­i­nar and IBPAK meet­ing

Rep­re­sen­ta­tives of 30 na­tional pri­vate and pub­lic schools, mem­bers of the As­so­ci­a­tion of IB World Schools in Pak­istan (IBPAK), from 5 cities, will at­tend the bi-an­nual meet­ing and an IB Gov­er­nance sem­i­nar.

The meet­ing will be chaired by Mr. Tay­mur Mirza, the found­ing Prin­ci­pal and vi­sion­ary of The In­ter­na­tional School, Karachi (First IB World School in Pak­istan), es­tab­lished in 1996 and the sem­i­nar will be led by In­ter­na­tional Bac­calau­re­ate ed­u­ca­tors: Mr. Richard Tangye and Dr. John Speran­dio, on 4 March, at Avari Ho­tel. The Bri­tish education sys­tem in Pak­istan rose to pop­u­lar­ity in the late 1970s and the IB education sys­tem is ris­ing na­tion­ally in the 21st cen­tury. This is in­dica­tive and re­flec­tive of an in­ter­na­tional shift to­wards IB Education. Cur­rently there are 2742 IB World Schools in the Amer­i­cas (largest con­cen­tra­tions in US and Canada); 994 in Africa, Europe and Middle East (Largest con­cen­tra­tion in the UK) and 704 in Asia-Pa­cific (largest con­cen­tra­tions in Aus­tralia, China and In­dia). Pak­istan was re­cently de­clared the coun­try with the fast growth rate of IB World Schools in Asia Pa­cific. Mr. Kevin House, Head of School Ser­vices, from the IB Asia-Pa­cific of­fice in Sin­ga­pore will be speak­ing about the global de­vel­op­ments of IB education sys­tem. He will be ac­com­pa­nied by Gre­gory Biggs, DP Prod­uct Man­ager.

IB Education is in­ter­na­tion­ally well re­garded as a lead­ing qual­i­fi­ca­tion for en­try into lead­ing Univer­si­ties of the World. It is a com­pre­hen­sive de­mand­ing pro­gramme of study based on the fo­cal de­vel­op­ment of skills, con­cepts, re­search, com­mu­ni­ca­tion, en­quiry and anal­y­sis.
