PM announces reduction in oil prices
Approving a summary forwarded by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority ( OGRA), Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday announced reduction in prices of petroleum products by up to Rs8.48 per litre.
The new POL prices will be implemented at midnight tonight. With a reduction of Rs8.48, petrol will be sold at Rs62.77 per litre from March 1. High-speed diesel will be available in Rs71.12 per litre after a reduction of Rs4.67.
Prices of high-octane and light-diesel have been reduced by Rs2.98 and Rs1.97 and will now be sold at Rs72.68 and RS37.97 per litre respectively. Kerosene oil price has also been reduced by Rs1.66 and it will be available at Rs44.91 per litre with the start of March.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday also gave an extension of two years to the service of Director General Intelligence Bureau Aftab Sultan.
