PM an­nounces re­duc­tion in oil prices

Ap­prov­ing a sum­mary for­warded by the Oil and Gas Reg­u­la­tory Au­thor­ity ( OGRA), Prime Min­is­ter Nawaz Sharif on Mon­day an­nounced re­duc­tion in prices of pe­tro­leum prod­ucts by up to Rs8.48 per litre.

The new POL prices will be im­ple­mented at mid­night tonight. With a re­duc­tion of Rs8.48, petrol will be sold at Rs62.77 per litre from March 1. High-speed diesel will be avail­able in Rs71.12 per litre af­ter a re­duc­tion of Rs4.67.

Prices of high-oc­tane and light-diesel have been re­duced by Rs2.98 and Rs1.97 and will now be sold at Rs72.68 and RS37.97 per litre re­spec­tively. Kerosene oil price has also been re­duced by Rs1.66 and it will be avail­able at Rs44.91 per litre with the start of March.

Prime Min­is­ter Nawaz Sharif on Mon­day also gave an ex­ten­sion of two years to the ser­vice of Di­rec­tor Gen­eral In­tel­li­gence Bureau Aftab Sul­tan.
