PM assures full support to Capital's local govt for development projects
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday said the government would ensure return of Temporarily Displaced People to their native areas with honour and respect.
He was talking to Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, designated Governor KPK who called on him here at the PM House. The Prime Minister said the entire nation in general and the people of FATA in particular, deserve due recognition for their support in the war against terrorism. The Prime Minister expressed the hope that the new Governor will continue to work for the development and welfare of the people of FATA and KP.
He said the government was committed and resolved to bring FATA at par with rest of the country and providing all facilities. The Prime Minister wished Iqbal Zafar Jhagra well on the assignment. The Governor-designate thanked the Prime Minister for reposing trust in him by nominating him as Governor Khyber Pukhtunkhwa (KP) and said he would continue the work initiated by his predecessor for improving conditions in FATA.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Tuesday said the federal government will extend full support to the local government to undertake developmental projects in the Capital and provision of best facilities in its rural and urban areas.
Talking to Mayor of Islamabad Sheikh Ansar Aziz who called on him here at the PM House, he congratulated the first ever mayor of the capital. The Prime Minister expressed the hope that under his leadership the elected representatives of Islamabad will work hard for improved facilities for the people in the rural and urban areas of the capital. PM said being the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad needs special attention and care. He regretted that the capital was unfortunately neglected in the past, which led to break down and neglect of civic facilities.
