42 Pak­ista­nis de­ported from Bri­tain

At least 42 Pak­ista­nis de­ported from Bri­tain have ar­rived at Be­nazir In­ter­na­tional Air­port in Is­lam­abad Wed­nes­day. An In­te­rior Min­istry spokesper­son said that all the de­por­tees were ver­i­fied, how­ever, three of them have been handed over to anti-hu­man traf­fick­ing cell of the FIA for au­then­ti­ca­tion of their doc­u­ments.

The spokesper­son said that th­ese three per­sons might have used land route to go abroad. In 2014, about 21,000 Pak­ista­nis who were in Europe with­out per­mis­sion were or­dered to re­turn home. An es­ti­mated 50,000 Pak­ista­nis travel legally to Europe for work each year. Pak­istan, the sixth most pop­u­lous coun­try in the world, is one of the top five coun­tries of ori­gin for il­le­gal mi­gra­tion to Europe, ac­cord­ing to fig­ures from the Euro­pean sta­tis­ti­cal in­sti­tute Euro­stat.
