Khaqan ready to brief Op­po­si­tion over LNG

Min­is­ter for Pe­tro­leum and Nat­u­ral Re­sources Shahid Khaqan Ab­basi has said Liqui­fied Nat­u­ral Gas (LNG) was a trans­par­ent project which was fi­nalised af­ter dis­cussing in the par­lia­ment's ses­sions and com­mit­tees.

Talk­ing to a news chan­nel, he said if op­po­si­tion present ad­journ­ment mo­tion over the project in Na­tional Assembly, then he was ready to dis­cuss and brief them again.

He said LNG was the only short-term project to over­come en­ergy is­sue in the coun­try. Re­ply­ing to a ques­tion about Orange Line Train Project, he said it was the vi­sion of Pak­istan Mus­lim League Nawaz ( PML-N) to pro­vide re­spectable and stan­dard trans­port fa­cil­ity to the peo­ple, adding, the fed­eral gov­ern­ment has also ini­ti­ated Green Line Bus project in Karachi.

He said Metro Bus Project in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Is­lam­abad was also pro­vid­ing stan­dard trans­porta­tion fa­cil­ity to thou­sands peo­ple daily.

He said the in­ter­na­tional com­mu­nity was also ac­knowl­edg­ing the peo­ple friendly poli­cies of the gov­ern­ment. He said Pun­jab was get­ting its less share through Na­tional Fi­nance Com­mis­sion (NFC) award but its per­for­mance was much bet­ter than other prov­inces in all the sec­tors in­clud­ing health, ed­u­ca­tion and trans­porta­tion.
