Fi­nance Min­is­ter chairs meet­ing on Spec­trum Auc­tion

Fi­nance Min­is­ter, Sen­a­tor Mo­ham­mad Ishaq Dar chaired the meet­ing about the Spec­trum Auc­tion the other day. Min­is­ter of State for In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy, Anusha Rehman Khan and Chair­man Pak­istan Telecom­mu­ni­ca­tion Au­thor­ity (PTA) Syed Is­mail Shah gave a de­tailed briefing on the progress made so far by the Spec­trum Auc­tion Com­mit­tee on the auc­tion of the avail­able spec­trum for the new en­trants as well as the ex­ist­ing play­ers.

The meet­ing noted that the process was on track and be­ing un­der­taken keep­ing in view the in­ter­na­tional stan­dards and prac­tices, bet­ter ser­vice for the con­sumers and most im­por­tantly en­sur­ing that it is ben­e­fi­cial for the coun­try.

The Fi­nance Min­is­ter ap­pre­ci­ated the ef­forts made by Min­istry of IT, PTA and the Spec­trum Auc­tion Com­mit­tee. He hoped that the up­com­ing auc­tion would be as suc­cess­ful as it was in the past and ad­vised that all con­cerned should en­sure the trans­parency in the auc­tion process.
