BMW Group re­ports record Fe­bru­ary sales

Ger­man car pro­ducer BMW Group re­ported on Fri­day that 163,965 BMW, MINI and Roll­sRoyce ve­hi­cles were sold in Fe­bru­ary, reg­is­ter­ing a year-onyear in­crease of 7.9 per­cent and a record fig­ure in terms of Fe­bru­ary sales. A to­tal of 316,846 units have been de­liv­ered to cus­tomers world­wide in the first two months this year, rep­re­sent­ing a year-onyear in­crease of 7.7 per­cent.

Ac­cord­ing to a state­ment of BMW Group, al­most all mar­kets achieved sales growth. In Asia, de­liv­er­ies of BMW and MINI ve­hi­cles in Jan­uary and Fe­bru­ary in­creased by 12.1 per­cent to 113,588 units com­pared with the same pe­riod last year. On the Chi­nese main­land, de­liv­er­ies rose by 12.7 per­cent to 80,215 units.

"As we ex­pected, we are see­ing tail­winds in some mar­kets but head­winds in oth­ers. How­ever with our in­no­va­tive new mod­els, we re­main op­ti­mistic that we will con­tinue to achieve steady sales growth as the year pro­gresses," said Ian Robert­son, mem­ber of the board of man­age­ment of BMW AG re­spon­si­ble for sales and mar­ket­ing.
