Bank of China up­grades Africa ser­vice

CASABLANCA: Bank of China (BOC) has launched its rep­re­sen­ta­tive of­fice in Casablanca, the largest city of Morocco, on Mon­day, which is seen as a key link to upgrade ser­vice in Africa. "Africa is a ris­ing mar­ket for Bank of China in its global de­vel­op­ment," said BOC pres­i­dent Chen Siqing at the open­ing cer­e­mony of the of­fice, adding "the es­tab­lish­ment of the of­fice will help to en­hance ser­vice in the flour­ish­ing con­ti­nent."

The new of­fice, the fifth BOC of­fice in Arica, will of­fer a whole pack­age of ser­vices for the African and Chi­nese en­ter­prises op­er­a­tional in the con­ti­nent in terms of fi­nance, in­for­ma­tion and en­gi­neer­ing, Chen said.

Ab­der­rahim Bouazza, pres­i­dent of Moroc­can Bank of Al-Maghrib, hailed the es­tab­lish­ment of the new BOC of­fice in Morocco, say­ing it will serve as a bridge­head in push­ing for­ward Sino-Africa co­op­er­a­tion.

The Chi­nese Am­bas­sador to Morocco Sun Shuzhong said the new of­fice will spur eco­nomic and trade co­op­er­a­tion be­tween China and Morocco and tap po­ten­tials for more ben­e­fits for African coun­tries.
