Pakistan open for business, says PSX chief
KARACHI: Delivering an address at the CanadaPakis tan Business Council (CPBC), Ontario, earlier this week, Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) Managing Director Nadeem Naqvi stated that the business and economic opportunities in Pakistan were enormous. "Pakistan is on the move and open for business," a press statement by the PSX quoted Mr Naqvi as saying.
The CPBC, in partnership with the Consulate General of Pakistan and Ministry of Citizenship, Immigration and International Trade, Ontario, had hosted a luncheon at the Ontario Invest ment and Trade Centre. The CPBC is a Canadian non-profit organisation enga ged in promoting trade bet ween Canada and Pakistan for the last 32 years.
The council has organised several trade missions which have resulted in investments in energy, mining, education and consumer and industrial goods sectors, the PSX said. Minister of Training, Col le ges and Universities Reza Moridi was the keynote speaker. Other guests included Dr Shafiq Qadri, MPP, Parlia mentary Assistant to the Pre mier of Ontario, Asghar Ali Golo, Consul General of Pak istan, Erdeniz Sen, Con sul General of Turkey and Akhil Tyagi, representing the Min is try of Citizen ship, Immi gra tion and In terna tional Trade as well as leaders and professionals from the business, finance and public-sector.
