Pak­istan open for busi­ness, says PSX chief

KARACHI: De­liv­er­ing an ad­dress at the CanadaPakis tan Busi­ness Coun­cil (CPBC), On­tario, ear­lier this week, Pak­istan Stock Ex­change (PSX) Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor Nadeem Naqvi stated that the busi­ness and eco­nomic op­por­tu­ni­ties in Pak­istan were enor­mous. "Pak­istan is on the move and open for busi­ness," a press state­ment by the PSX quoted Mr Naqvi as say­ing.

The CPBC, in part­ner­ship with the Con­sulate Gen­eral of Pak­istan and Min­istry of Cit­i­zen­ship, Im­mi­gra­tion and In­ter­na­tional Trade, On­tario, had hosted a lun­cheon at the On­tario In­vest ment and Trade Cen­tre. The CPBC is a Cana­dian non-profit or­gan­i­sa­tion enga ged in pro­mot­ing trade bet ween Canada and Pak­istan for the last 32 years.

The coun­cil has or­gan­ised sev­eral trade mis­sions which have re­sulted in in­vest­ments in en­ergy, min­ing, education and con­sumer and in­dus­trial goods sec­tors, the PSX said. Min­is­ter of Train­ing, Col le ges and Univer­si­ties Reza Moridi was the key­note speaker. Other guests in­cluded Dr Shafiq Qadri, MPP, Par­lia men­tary As­sis­tant to the Pre mier of On­tario, As­ghar Ali Golo, Consul Gen­eral of Pak is­tan, Er­d­eniz Sen, Con sul Gen­eral of Turkey and Akhil Tyagi, rep­re­sent­ing the Min is try of Ci­ti­zen ship, Immi gra tion and In terna tional Trade as well as lead­ers and pro­fes­sion­als from the busi­ness, fi­nance and pub­lic-sec­tor.
