Min­is­ter for Religious Affairs Sar­dar Muham­mad Yousuf on Wed­nes­day said the govern­ment was tak­ing steps to pro­vide bet­ter fa­cil­i­ties to the pil­grims dur­ing Haj. Talk­ing to Pak­istan Tele­vi­sion, he said ef­forts were be­ing made to make the en­tire Haj process trans­par­ent. An elec­tronic sys­tem was be­ing in­tro­duced for pri­vate Haj oper­a­tors un­der which all the data of pil­grims would be com­put­er­ized, which would help the im­mi­gra­tion process, he added.

He said, "Ev­ery year we or­ga­nize Haj train­ing camps for in­tend­ing pil­grims at Hajj Camps, where they are not onlt briefed on Haj rituals, but demos are also per­formed for their con­ve­nience." A track­ing sys­tem, he said, was also be­ing launched, which which would pro­vide com­plete in­for­ma­tion about the pil­grims dur­ing Haj, in­clud­ing their lo­ca­tion and move­ment. Sar­dar Yousuf said to­tal 143,368 Pak­ista­nis would per­form Haj this year.
