Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf on Wednesday said the government was taking steps to provide better facilities to the pilgrims during Haj. Talking to Pakistan Television, he said efforts were being made to make the entire Haj process transparent. An electronic system was being introduced for private Haj operators under which all the data of pilgrims would be computerized, which would help the immigration process, he added.
He said, "Every year we organize Haj training camps for intending pilgrims at Hajj Camps, where they are not onlt briefed on Haj rituals, but demos are also performed for their convenience." A tracking system, he said, was also being launched, which which would provide complete information about the pilgrims during Haj, including their location and movement. Sardar Yousuf said total 143,368 Pakistanis would perform Haj this year.
