Iran's Pres­i­dent Rouhani due today

Pres­i­dent of Iran Has­san Rouhani will visit Pak­istan Fri­day (today) on a two day of­fi­cial visit, at the in­vi­ta­tion of Prime Min­is­ter Nawaz Sharif.

Ac­cord­ing to lo­cal me­dia re­ports, For­eign Of­fice (FO) said in a re­lease that the Pres­i­dent of the Is­lamic Re­pub­lic of Iran will visit Pak­istan from 25-26 March 2016. The visit to Pak­istan will be the first by Rouhani's as the Pres­i­dent of Iran. The Ira­nian Pres­i­dent will be ac­com­pa­nied by a high-level del­e­ga­tion com­pris­ing Min­is­ters, se­nior of­fi­cials and busi­ness­men. The lead­er­ship will have an ex­change of views on strength­en­ing bi­lat­eral re­la­tions, af­ter the lift­ing of sanc­tions on Iran fol­low­ing its nu­clear deal with the West "has opened new av­enues for en­hanc­ing eco­nomic in­ter­ac­tion," the FO said. Rouhani would also dis­cuss co­op­er­a­tion on re­gional and in­ter­na­tional is­sues dur­ing his visit on Fri­day and Satur­day, the min­istry added. PM Nawaz Sharif said on Mon­day that Pak­istan val­ued its ties with Iran and con­sid­ers the coun­try a close friend and neigh­bour. "The visit (by Has­san Rouhani) would be a great op­por­tu­nity for us to re­view the whole range of bi­lat­eral re­la­tions and fur­ther strengthen the broth­erly ties," he added.
