OGRA releases 3 pending financial reports of SSGC
Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has issued financial reports of the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) which were pending for last three years, official sources in the company said. "Now, the financial reports for the years 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15 are in the printing process and the shareholders will be informed about their dividends soon," they told APP.
Answering a question, the sources informed that gas supply to the company's consumers had considerably increased after addition of imported Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) to its distribution system. They said uninterrupted gas supply was being ensured to Compressed National Gas (CNG) stations, gas-based power generation units, fertilizer plants and industrial sector. Replying to another question, the sources said a summary had been sent to the quarters concerned to lift ban from issuance of gas connections for commercial purpose.
Citing reason for moving the summary, they said it would help stop gas theft, which was being committed by restaurants, confectioneries, bakeries and small-scale industries mainly, and ease deployment of heavy manpower for the checking and raids. Presently, the sources said, the SSGC had over 2.5 million consumers and the company was making allout efforts to ensure provision of improved services to them.
