LAHORE: Punjab government representative Zaeem Qadri on Monday admitted that it was a failure of the provincial government that law enforcing institutions were unable to provide effective security to the parks of the provincial capital. While addressing the media, Qadri stated that the security institutions did achieve significant breakthroughs in the battle against terrorism however he agreed that the provincial government failed to provide security to the recreational park that was targeted by the terrorists on Sunday. Qadri said that investigation regarding the tragic incident that occurred in Lahore is underway and that those responsible for the attack will not be able to escape the law. A suicide blast in the Gulshan Iqbal Park in Lahore on Sunday claimed the lives of almost 70 people, mostly women and children, and left over 300 as injured.
