KP CM di­rects uti­liza­tion of state land for in­come gen­er­a­tion

Chief Min­is­ter KP Pervez Khat­tak has di­rected heads of all pro­vin­cial de­part­ments for chalk­ing out ef­fi­cient plan­ning for the use of the unuti­lized land owned by their de­part­ments to in­crease rev­enue of the prov­ince to make the de­part­ments self gen­er­at­ing and self suf­fi­cient.

This he said while pre­sid­ing over a high level meet­ing con­vened to de­lib­er­ate over rais­ing of pro­vin­cial rev­enue at chief min­is­ter House Pe­shawar on Mon­day. Be­sides Se­nior Min­is­ter Sikan­dar Hayat Khan Sher­pao, Fi­nance Min­is­ter, Muzaf­far Syed Ad­vo­cate, Ed­u­ca­tion Min­is­ter, Mo­ham­mad Atif, Ad­vi­sor to CM for Com­mu­ni­ca­tion and Works, Ak­ber Ayub, Ad­vi­sor to CM for Plan­ning and De­vel­op­ment De­part­ment, Mian Khaliq Ur Rehman, Ad­di­tional Chief Sec­re­tary Mo­ham­mad Azam Khan and ad­min­is­tra­tive sec­re­taries of the con­cerned de­part­ments at­tended the meet­ing.

The Chief Min­is­ter di­rected heads of the de­part­ments for early iden­ti­fi­ca­tion and proper uti­liza­tion of the state owned land for com­mer­cial pur­pose to in­crease pro­vin­cial rev­enues.

He also ordered hir­ing of con­sul­tants and con­sti­tu­tion of man­age­ment com­mit­tees in each de­part­ment for this pur­pose. He di­rected to give final touches to the process till June in this re­gard.

The Chief Min­is­ter also ap­pointed Sec­re­tary Re­lief, Ah­mad Hanif Orakzai as in­charge to mon­i­tor the projects to be chalked out for uti­liza­tion of the state as­sets for rev­enue gen­er­at­ing pur­pose. He di­rected to keep all the process trans­par­ent and ac­cord­ing to rules.

He also di­rected for ini­ti­at­ing the nec­es­sary leg­is­la­tion to make the project work­able. The Chief Min­is­ter also ordered auc­tion of ob­so­lete ma­chin­ery stored in the me­chan­i­cal work­shop of Ir­ri­ga­tion De­part­ment. More­over, he asked con­cerned authority for plan­ning con­struc­tion of multi-storey build­ing on the sites of the work­shop. Sim­i­larly, he asked to com­plete small project in one year and big project in a pe­riod of 15 months.

Tar­gets for Rev­enue gen­er­a­tion for var­i­ous de­part­ments were also fixed in the meet­ing. The De­part­ment of Com­mu­ni­ca­tions and works was asked to gen­er­ate Rs 2 bil­lion while for Agri­cul­ture de­part­ment 1 bil­lion, En­vi­ron­ment de­part­ment 600 mil­lion, In­dus­try De­part­ment 2 bil­lion, Mine and min­eral de­part­ment 2.2 bil­lion, lo­cal gov­ern­ment de­part­ment 2 bil­lion, ir­ri­ga­tion de­part­ment 1 bil­lion, Pe­shawar de­vel­op­ment Authority 6 bil­lion, ex­cise de­part­ment 14 bil­lion and Auqaf De­part­ment Rs 500 mil­lion was de­ter­mined to gen­er­ate.
