Sports events pos­si­ble due to peace in Pak­istan: PM Ab­basi

IS­LAM­ABAD: Prime Min­is­ter Shahid Khaqan Ab­basi said on Fri­day that Pak­istan has turned peace­ful now which has made it pos­si­ble to hold na­tional level sports events.

The prime min­is­ter was ad­dress­ing the par­tic­i­pants of the Quaid-e-Azam in­ter-pro­vin­cial games' end­ing cer­e­mony here.

PM Ab­basi said that due to the ef­forts of the civil-mil­i­tary lead­er­ship it is now pos­si­ble to hold sports events peace­fully.

While con­grat­u­lat­ing the par­tic­i­pants, the prime min­is­ter urged the youth to clinch medals at the Olympics for the coun­try. In the same vein, PM Ab­basi told the youth that apart from the medals, it is equally im­por­tant to have par­tic­i­pa­tion in the in­ter­na­tional sports events. The premier said that ap­proval has been given for the es­tab­lish­ment of a sports univer­sity in the coun­try.
