Sber­bank, Sam­sung Elec­tron­ics sign MoU

MOSCOW: Sber­bank and Sam­sung Elec­tron­ics signed a mem­o­ran­dum of co­op­er­a­tion. Sam­sung will also take part in Sber­bank's loy­alty pro­grammes, in­clud­ing 'Fam­ily Day' and the 'FRIEND' pro­ject. Co­op­er­a­tion be­tween the com­pa­nies will in­volve joint work in the fol­low­ing ar­eas: cor­po­rate mo­bile de­vices, vir­tual re­al­ity, cor­po­rate in­for­ma­tion and per­sonal data se­cu­rity so­lu­tions, bio­met­rics, and projects re­lated to train­ing em­ploy­ees and de­vel­op­ing bank prod­ucts. In ad­di­tion, the com­pa­nies plan to hold reg­u­lar joint in­no­va­tion and tech­ni­cal sem­i­nars for em­ploy­ees and clients of the Bank.

Sam­sung will of­fer the Bank's em­ploy­ees spe­cial con­di­tions for pur­chas­ing Sam­sung de­vices, as well as unique mo­bile so­lu­tions. Teimur Stern­lib, Se­nior Vice Pres­i­dent of Sber­bank, said, "The strate­gic part­ner­ship with Sam­sung will give us ac­cess to the most ad­vanced tech­nolo­gies in a num­ber of promis­ing ar­eas. When com­bined with Sber­bank's in-depth ex­per­tise in fi­nan­cial tech­nolo­gies this agree­ment will help us re­alise many in­no­va­tive projects. In ad­di­tion, we are ac­tively work­ing on im­prov­ing the ef­fi­ciency of our in­ter­nal pro­cesses and ex­pect to achieve a syn­ergy by merg­ing our own de­vel­op­ments and Sam­sung's tech­nolo­gies."

More­over, Sber­bank will launch a New Year cam­paign fea­tur­ing lower fixed con­sumer loan rates. The rates have been re­duced by 0.4-7.4 pps for loans start­ing from 250,000 rou­bles. The rates will to­tal 12.5-13.5% loans start­ing from 500,000 rou­bles and 14.5-15.5% for loans of 250,000-500,000 rou­bles as part of the cam­paign. Re­fi­nanced con­sumer loans start­ing from 500,000 rou­bles will fea­ture the rate of 12.5%.

Sergei Shi­rokov, Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor of Sber­bank's Bor­row and Save Di­vi­sion, said, "Sber­bank has pre­pared a tra­di­tional New Year con­sumer loan of­fer. This year the fo­cus is on quite large sums, as we see de­mand for larger loans closer to the end of the year.
