Sberbank, Samsung Electronics sign MoU
MOSCOW: Sberbank and Samsung Electronics signed a memorandum of cooperation. Samsung will also take part in Sberbank's loyalty programmes, including 'Family Day' and the 'FRIEND' project. Cooperation between the companies will involve joint work in the following areas: corporate mobile devices, virtual reality, corporate information and personal data security solutions, biometrics, and projects related to training employees and developing bank products. In addition, the companies plan to hold regular joint innovation and technical seminars for employees and clients of the Bank.
Samsung will offer the Bank's employees special conditions for purchasing Samsung devices, as well as unique mobile solutions. Teimur Sternlib, Senior Vice President of Sberbank, said, "The strategic partnership with Samsung will give us access to the most advanced technologies in a number of promising areas. When combined with Sberbank's in-depth expertise in financial technologies this agreement will help us realise many innovative projects. In addition, we are actively working on improving the efficiency of our internal processes and expect to achieve a synergy by merging our own developments and Samsung's technologies."
Moreover, Sberbank will launch a New Year campaign featuring lower fixed consumer loan rates. The rates have been reduced by 0.4-7.4 pps for loans starting from 250,000 roubles. The rates will total 12.5-13.5% loans starting from 500,000 roubles and 14.5-15.5% for loans of 250,000-500,000 roubles as part of the campaign. Refinanced consumer loans starting from 500,000 roubles will feature the rate of 12.5%.
Sergei Shirokov, Managing Director of Sberbank's Borrow and Save Division, said, "Sberbank has prepared a traditional New Year consumer loan offer. This year the focus is on quite large sums, as we see demand for larger loans closer to the end of the year.
