Brisbane showcases PNG
Amajor exhibition of PNG art is on at the Queensland Art Gallery in Brisbane until the end of January. Its title, No. 1 Neighbour, suggests its intention – using pidgin patois to underline that PNG and Australia are close.
The selection of artworks from the 50-year period 1966 to 2015 is intended “to expand our knowledge of a shared history”, says curator Ruth McDougall.
