PNG art can­not just sit there in si­lence. Sto­ry­telling is its first ac­com­pa­ni­ment. There were sing-sing per­for­mances at the ex­hi­bi­tion open­ing, along with films show­ing the per­for­mances of the legendary PNG band Sanguma.

McDougall wants Aus­tralia to recog­nise its colo­nial past in PNG and go on to re­joice in the vi­brancy and strength of its No. 1 Neigh­bour to­day.
