Adamson mangles TIP to bag third win in PVL
Games Monday (Filoil Flying V Centre) 4 p.m. St. Benilde vs UP 6:30 p.m. TIP vs Arellano AIRESS Padda, Adamson’s eloquent, photogenic American coach, knows things are only going to get tougher in the days to come.
“We are slowly getting the consistency that we’ve been working for,” said Padda of the Lady Falcons after mangling the Technological Institute of the Philippines Lady Engineers, 25-12, 25-14, 2513, Saturday.
The win was third straight for Adamson which is trying to rebuild itself from a disastrous campaign the UAAP.
It also moved the Lady Falcons two wins closer to outright semifinals stint in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference semifinals.
But Padda knew better than to gloat.
“We need to play even better because the competition is going to get tougher for us,” said Padda who took the helm at Adamson last UAAP season where the Lady Falcons only had one win to show.
It was far different picture Saturday afternoon at Filoil Flying V Centre.
The Lady Falcons were a last year in picture of a confident, highly efficient predator in fashioning out the win over the hapless Lady Engineers.
They worked around the grand exploits of wonder girl Jem Galanza who topscored with 18 points. Mary Joy Dacoron also chipped in 12 markers.
Galanza, a rising star in the collegiate and club ranks, also shone with six aces, 11 digs and six receives to cement her image as a dependable leader with all-around game.
Adamson has beaten University of the Philippines and Arellano University in its first two matches. —
