COTABATO CITY— A farmer stabbed and killed his two children, aged 4 and 6, before he hanged himself in the family's house in Tantangan town, South Cotabato province, on Tuesday, a relative of the victims said.

An older sister of the 29year-old farmer said her brother appeared to be restless on the eve of the crime.

She said her brother, who was drunk, wanted his six children to stay with him but only two went home with him on Monday night.

The four other children, she said, chose to stay at their grandmother's house, some 20 meters away from the family home in the village of Dumadalig.

"We have no any idea about his plan. But he was drunk last night," the sister told the Inquirer.

She discovered the crime on Tuesday morning when she went to her brother's house to feed the children. The farmer's wife is in Metro Manila preparing her documents for a job abroaid, the sister said.
