18-player PH volleyball teams pinangalanan na

OPTIMISTIKO ang Larong Volleyball ng Pilipinas Inc. (LVPI) na kapwa makakapag-uwi ng anumang kulay na medalya ang men’s at women’s national volleyball team na isasabak sa internasyonal na torneo kabilang ang 2017 Southeast Asian Games sa Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Sinabi nina LVPI president Joey Romasanta, vice-president at acting president Peter Cayco at LV P I treasurer Jeff Tamayo na ang dalawang koponan ay may kakayanan na maiahon at maibalik ang bansa sa dati nitong lugar bilang kinatatakutan sa larong volleyball sa rehiyon.

“We believe that with the current composition of these national teams, we are very optimistic that we can achieve that we aim for in bringing home medal for the country. Hindi nga lang namin alam kung anong kulay a n g m a i u uwi natin,” nasabi lamang ni Romasanta.

Binigyan mismo ng sertipiko ng LVPI bilang simbolo ng pagiging m i y e m b ro n g pambansang koponan sa kalalakihan sina Relan Taneo, Geuel Asia, Bryan Bagunas, Alnakran Abdilla, Alden Dave Cabaron, Mark Gil Alfafara, Reyson Fuentes, Jeff Malabanan, Bonjomar Castel, Hershel Ramos, Johnvic De Guzman, Jack Kalingking, Louwie Chavez, Edward Camposano, Gregorio Dolor, John Kenneth Sarcena, John Carascal at Peter John Quiel.

Itinalaga naman na team captain ng men’s squad si De Guzman habang si Mika Reyes sa women’s team.

Maliban kay Reyes kabilang din sa women’s team sina Denden Lazaro, Dawn Macandili, Abigail Mar ano, Gene v i e v e Casugod, Maika Ortiz, Lourdes Clemente, Jaja Santiago, Aiza Maizo Pontillas, Jovelyn Gonzag a , Fr ance s Mol i n a , Kathleen Faith Arado, Rachel Ann Daquis, Ria Meneses, Kim Fajardo, Rhea Dimaculangan, Roselle Baliton at Alyssa Valdez. — Angelito Oredo
