THE Min­danao Leg of the LBC Ronda Pilip­inas 2016 con­cludes with Satur­day’s fifth and fi­nal stage that would serve as the cer­e­mo­nial ride for vir­tual cham­pion Jan Paul Mo­rales of Navy-Stan­dard in­sur­ance at the Malay­balay City Plaza in Bukid­non.

The 30-year- old Mo­rales has al­ready pock­eted the Min­danao Leg crown af­ter he dom­i­nated the 21.7-kilome­ter in­di­vid­ual time trial Stage Four in Manolo For­tich on Thurs­day.

The ITT vic­tory gave Mo­rales 10 ex­tra points to hike his to­tal to 49 points, 14 ahead of clos­est pur­suer and Navy team­mate Ron­ald Oranza (34 points).

All Mo­rales need to of­fi­cially hoist the tro­phy is to fin­ish the 3-km cri­terium.

“It’s fin­ished,” said Mo­rales, orig­i­nally from Tay­tay, Rizal, but now lives in Calumpang, Marik­ina. “I’ll just try to play it safe and just fin­ish the race.”

Mo­rales also topped the cri­terium Stage Three in Ca­gayan de Oro City Tues­day and fin­ished se­cond to Oranza in the first two stages in Butuan City last week.

Daniel Ven Carino (30), Rudy Roque (26), Joel Calderon (23), El Joshua Carino (16), John Mark Camin­gao (12), Ron­nilon Quita (12) and James Paolo Fer­fas (9) rounded out the top 10.
