2 Davao Region battalions deployed to help fight Abu Sayyaf

TWO BATTALIONS under the 10th Infantry Division in the Davao Region will beef up security forces in the Western Mindanao Command to help counter the Abu Sayyaf Group. Capt. Rhyan Batchar, chief of the 10ID’s Public Affairs Office, said 800 to 1,000 soldiers are off to Jolo, Sulu, a known stronghold of the kidnap-for-ransom gang. —
