4DX technology, recliner seats are new come-ons for movie watchers in Makati
AYALA MALLS Cinemas recently unveiled its latest state-of-the-art theaters at Greenbelt 3, introducing two cinema concepts that will lure Makati denizens into watching movies on the silver screen again.
The first is 4DX, cinema technology which immerses the audience throughout the movie by engaging all the senses while the action unfolds on screen. Greenbelt 3’s 4DX cinema is the first in Makati City and the third of Ayala Malls Cinemas (the other two are at Bonifacio High Street and UP Town Center).
Greenbelt 3 cinema 5 is now equipped with 144 motion seats and an auditorium filled with environmental effects that are precisely timed and choreographed to match the action on the screen. The 4DX motion chairs heave up and down, roll side to side, and pitch forward and backward to allow the viewer to physically participate in the action on-screen. These motions are harmonized with featured effects such as bottom and back shaker, water, fog, scents, wind, lightning, face air, bubbles, and a leg tickler. The 4DX is in partnership with CJ 4DPlex, the world’s first 4-D cinema company for feature films.
The second is found in Greenbelt 3’s cinema 4 which focuses on luxury and comfort. The theater currently houses 92 fully-motorized leather recliner seats which are also equipped with USB ports for gadget-charging needs and foldable tables for snacks.
The launch of the two refurbished theaters was done while screening the hit movie Suicide Squad from Warner Bros. The event was attended by a slew of local celebrities and Ayala Malls Cinemas officers.
