CHIEF JUSTICE PANGANIBAN PROFESSORIAL LECTURE ON HUMAN RIGHTS HELD.
As chairholder of the 2017 Chief Justice Panganiban Professorial Chair on Liberty and Prosperity, Far Eastern University (FEU) – Makati Institute of Law dean Atty. Melencio Sta. Maria (4th from left), delivered a talk on “Human Rights, Politics, International Law and Trade Arrangement and Economic Prosperity: A Reading of the Philippine Situation.” The lecture was held last September 26, 2017 at the FEU Makati Mini Theater. Atty. Sta. Maria highlighted the need to protect human rights to sustain economic growth, particularly in relation to trade with the United States and the European Union. A partnership between the Metrobank Foundation, Inc. (MBFI) and the Foundation for Liberty and Prosperity (FLP) since 2012, the professorial chair aims to encourage educational institutions and law schools to research and propagate dissertations on areas of national concern.
