A team from the Philip­pine Drug En­force­ment Agency, which has just been ap­pointed as the “sole” im­ple­menter of the govern­ment’s con­tro­ver­sial war on il­le­gal drugs, de­stroys P10.6 mil­lion worth of chem­i­cals and lab­o­ra­tory equip­ment used for man­u­fac­tur­ing shabu (metham­phetamine) at the Green Planet ware­house in Valen­zuela City on Oct. 12.

On the des­ig­na­tion of the Philip­pine Drug En­force­ment Agency (PDEA) as the “sole” im­ple­menter in the govern­ment’s cam­paign against nar­cotics: PDEA will now bring pol­icy fo­cus, ex­pert per­for­mance stan­dards, high-level co­or­di­na­tion of over­sight, and cen­tral­ized in­tel­li­gence col­lec­tion to the war on drugs. — Pres­i­den­tial Spokesper­son Ernesto C.
