Davao City plans trade, tourism mission to Singapore, Malaysia in 2018

FOLLOWING ITS recent trade and tourism mission to Japan, the Davao City government is now planning to hold a similar campaign to Malaysia and Singapore next year. “We have direct connections with those two countries,” said Lemuel G. Ortonio, Davao City Investment Promotion Center head, referring to direct international flights. Budget carrier AirAsia will start its DavaoKuala Lumpur flights in December, while the Davao-Singapore route is being served by Cebu Pacific and SilkAir. The trade mission to Singapore would be the second for the city government, with the first one held in 2012. The mission to Malaysia, on the other hand, would be a first for the city.
