EDC’s BINHI pro­gram goes to Mt. Mak­il­ing

Geother­mal en­ergy leader En­ergy De­vel­op­ment Corp.’s (EDC) flag­ship en­vi­ron­men­tal pro­gram is BINHI, a con­ser­va­tion pro­gram that fo­cuses on prop­a­gat­ing and main­stream­ing 96 iden­ti­fied rare and threat­ened Philip­pine tree species in part­ner­ship with 164 dif­fer­ent in­sti­tu­tions and groups across 16 re­gions in the coun­try. To help its part­ners fur­ther ap­pre­ci­ate the work that the BINHI team does on-ground, EDC re­cently or­ga­nized a two-day BINHI TREK (Tree En­counter and Knowl­edge Shar­ing) in Mt. Mak­il­ing in Los Baños, La­guna. Rep­re­sen­ta­tives from Ma­sungi Ge­o­re­serve, 2030 Youth Force Philip­pines, Na­tional Univer­sity Moun­taineers, Rain For­est Restora­tion Net­work Ini­tia­tive, Earth Day Net­work Philip­pines, Inc., Per­ma­cul­ture Philip­pines As­so­ci­a­tion, the Univer­sity of the Philip­pines–Los Baños Col­lege of Forestry and Nat­u­ral Re­sources, and the Mak­il­ing Cen­ter for Moun­tain Ecosys­tem joined the hike.
