A TWO-YEAR-OLD girl from Barangay Mantuyong, Mandaue City, is in need of financial assistance for her chemotherapy.
Joanna Mariz Povadora was recently diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a malignant eye cancer.
A week after Joanna was born, an abnormal spot was seen on her left eye. The spot gradually increased in size and became white, prompting her parents to seek consultation.
Joanna was found to have retinoblastoma. Enucleation was then performed to remove the entire eye.
Currently, Joanna is undergoing chemotherapy. She needs to complete six cycles of chemotherapy to achieve cure. Aside from that, Joanna also needs an artificial eye as replacement for the lost eye. The artificial eye costs around P10,000-P15,000.
However, Joanna’s parents are financially hard-up. Her father is a production worker earning a minimum wage, while her mother is a homemaker.
Thus, Joanna is asking kindhearted individuals to help her by donating for her chemotherapy treatment.
