De Asis wins three crowns in Palawan net

ROAD wins are sweet but it couldn't be more melo­di­ous for Kiana de Asis as she made her trip worth­while by be­com­ing the big­gest win­ner in the Palawan Pawn­shop - Palawan Ex­press Pera Padala (PPS-PEPP) re­gional ten­nis tour­na­ment.

The La Car­lota City, Ne gr os Oc­ci­den­tal net­ter bagged three ti­tles at the end of the tour­na­ment yes­ter­day at the San Roque Ten­nis Courts in Man­daue City.

De Asis was tested by Aus­tralian AJ McKen­zie but still grinded out a 6–0, 4–6, 10–6 win to pocket the 16–un­der girls' ti­tle.

The 15–year old then de­feated Ce­buana Pherl Bless Coderos, 6–0, 6–1, for the 18–un­der girls' crown be­fore cap­ping off her dom­i­nant run by team­ing up with Erica Sevilla to win over Shedel Gica and Lyrah Re­pollo, 8–3, for the 18–un­der girls dou­bles cham­pi­onship.

In other games, Ce­buanos Vhon Tud­tud, Vinz Lomi­noque and Chad Con­nor Cuizon also got their share of suc­cess as they pock­eted two ti­tles each in the tour­na­ment.

The nine–year–old Cuizon ruled the 10–uni­sex divi­sion with a 4–1, 4–0 spanking of Jo­vani Di­mate be­fore join­ing forces with Dou­glas Mar­avil­las to slay the pair of Di­mate and Louchela Estem­ber, 8–4, for the 10–uni­sex dou­bles crown.

Tud­tud sur­vived Con­so­la­cion Cebu's Jude Balundo, 4–6, 7–5, 10–4, for the 18–un­der boys tiara and teamed up with Vinz Lomi­noque to de­feat the pair of Le­muel Gar­bosa and Her­bert Sar­raga, 8–7 (4), for the 18–boys dou­bles ti­tle.

Lomi­noque got his sec­ond ti­tle in the 16–un­der boys' divi­sion cour­tesy of a 6–1, 6–1 tri­umph over top–seed Troy Lla­mas.

An­other Cebu bet who bagged a ti­tle was As­turias Cebu's Ju­lianna Mar­avil­las, who de­feated Re­pollo, 6–2, 6–3, for the 14–un­der girls' ti­tle.
