NegOr to host ‘Man of the World’ com­pe­ti­tion

THE prov­ince of Ne­gros Ori­en­tal will host the more than 40 male can­di­dates from all over the world com­pet­ing for the “Man of the World” ti­tle in July.

Ac­cord­ing to Tourism Ed­u­ca­tors Coun­cil of Ne­gros Ori­en­tal and Siqui­jor pres­i­dent Rafael Duhay­lung­sod, the Man of the World pageant will bring new ad­vo­cacy which will high­light the im­por­tance of ed­u­ca­tion and pro­mote tourism, and at the same time up­lift the im­age of male pageantry.

To start the prepa­ra­tions of host­ing the event, the back-to-back launch­ing of Man of the World and Mis­ters of Filip­inas was held re­cently in Du­maguete City dur­ing which the Prime Event Pro­duc­tions Philip­pines pre­sented Po­lice Of­fi­cer Neil Perez (Mis­ter In­ter­na­tional 2014), Po­lice Insp. Christo­pher Du­la­gan (Man of the World Philip­pines 2016), Vin­cent Ja­rina (Mis­ter Ocean Philip­pines) 2016, AR Dela Serna (Mis­ter Supra­na­tional Philip­pines 2016), Miguel Guia (Mis­ter In­ter­na­tional Philip­pines 2016) and CJ Quirol (Man­hunt In­ter­na­tional Philip­pines 2016) in a grand fash­ion show to­gether with the beauty queens of Ne­gros Ori­en­tal.

The Philip­pines-based Man of the World will bring the male can­di­dates to Ne­gros Ori­en­tal to host the three-night events on July 21 to 23 par­tic­u­larly in the cities of Du­maguete, Tan­jay and Bais, and the towns of Dauin and Man­juyod.

The Man of the World theme is an­chored on “Youth Em­pow­er­ment thru Cul­ture, Ed­u­ca­tion and Tourism.”

Duhay­lung­sod said there will be an ed­u­ca­tion fo­rum with the male can­di­dates at St. Paul Univer­sity Du­maguete (SPUD).

Dur­ing the stay of all the can­di­dates, the Man of the World as­pi­rants are re­quired to use the hash­tags #Ne­grosOri­en­tal, #It­sMoreFun in­Du­maguete or #It­sMoreFuninthePhilip­pines in their so­cial me­dia posts to pro­mote the re­spec­tive the tourism des­ti­na­tions in the prov­ince.

Coun­tries that con­firmed to par­tic­i­pate in the event in­clude Al­ge­ria, Brazil, Canada, Colom­bia, Ghana, Iran, Malta, Moldova, Nepal, Puerto Rico, Slo­vakia, Spain, Thai­land among oth­ers.

Duhay­lung­sod said Mis­ters of Filip­inas–Man of the World 2016 Christo­pher Comi­cho Du­la­gan, a 23-year-old po­lice in­spec­tor, will be the can­di­date of the Philip­pines.
