Marian RiveraDantes treats Cebuano fans

CEBUANOS are in for a “supernaturally fantastic” weekend as Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera-Dantes treats her fans tomorrow to promote her big TV comeback via GMA Network’s newest series, “Super Ma’am.”

Joining Marian are her leading men, newest Kapuso heartthrob Matthias Rhoads and actor-comedian Jerald Napoles. The “Super Ma’am” cast will first visit Gaisano Capital South for a mall show at 3 p.m. Afterwards, they are set to bring fun and entertainment to the mallgoers of Gaisano Island Mall Mactan for a Kapuso Fans Day at 5 p.m.

Set to pilot on Monday (September 18) on GMA Telebabad, “Super Ma’am” sees Marian breathing life to Minerva Henerala, the odd but soft-hearted and dedicated high school teacher who loves her students despite their naughtiness inside the classroom. Years ago she lost her mother and sister to a tragic archaeological accident. At the same site, she had a close encounter with mythical glowing winged-creatures and shape shifters called Tamawo , and she grew up believing that they exist among humans.

As the years go by, the Tamawo have made their way into the city and abduct children to feed on their youthful energy. Now it is up to Minerva’s alter-ego—Super Ma’am—to become a Tamawo-slayer and save the human world.

In the series, Matthias plays Trevor Jones, an American archaeologist and writer who will fall in love with Super Ma’am. Jerald, on the other hand, is Esteban, the talkative janitor at Minerva’s school that secretly loves Minerva. Beyond the mythical creatures, “Super Ma’am” is a series that heralds the invaluable role of teachers as second parents of children in our society. Minerva is a role model not only in nurturing every child’s potential, but also in showcasing and proving that there is a good teacher in all of us.

“Before we get to see Marian’s much- awaited return to primetime television, we are treating her Cebuano fans to two exciting events this weekend: a Kapuso Mall Show and a Kapuso Fans Day. This is still part of our commitment to give back to our viewers for their unwavering support to our programs and stars,” says Oliver Amoroso, Vice President and Head of GMA’s Regional TV Department. “We are truly excited to share to our Kapusong Cebuanos what Super Ma’am is all about especially since we are celebrating the National Teachers’ Month this September,” he adds.
