GSP pre­pares for cadet en­camp­ment in NegOr

ABOUT 3,000 girl scouts from the prov­inces of Ne­gros Ori­en­tal and Siqui­jor are ex­pected to par­tic­i­pate in the 35th Coun­cil Ju­nior, Se­nior, Cadet En­camp­ment on Septem­ber 21 to 24 at Camp Lily Gamo, Sibu­lan, Ne­gros Ori­en­tal.

The Girl Scouts of the Philip­pines (GSP) Ne­gros Ori­en­tal and Siqui­jor Coun­cil sets the theme for this year’s cadet en­camp­ment as: “GSP: Grow. Lead. Take Ac­tion.”

The campers from the two prov­inces will be di­vided into Ju­nior or El­e­men­tary level, Se­nior or High School, and Cadet or the Col­lege cat­e­gory for the four-day en­camp­ment.

Ac­tiv­i­ties lined up in­clude ad­ven­ture games, dis­as­ter pre­pared­ness, first aid, earth­quake drill, waste seg­re­ga­tion and tree plant­ing.

Videos on the As­so­ci­a­tion of South­east Asian Na­tions will also be shown dur­ing the en­camp­ment as the Philip­pines is this year’s host of Asean Summit, which co­in­cides with its 50th Found­ing An­niver­sary.

Prepa­ra­tions have been set by dif­fer­ent com­mit­tees on phys­i­cal ar­range­ments, health and san­i­ta­tion, se­cu­rity and safety, trans­porta­tion, and pub­lic­ity and pro­mo­tions led by GSP Ne­gros Ori­en­tal–Siqui­jor Coun­cil Pres­i­dent Mari­ant Vil­le­gas.
