Balangauan’s team tops Corn Tee golf
THE team led by Blataire Balangauan bagged the Division A title of the recent Corn Tee of Club Filipino Incorporada de Cebu at the club’s course in Pulangyuta, Danao City.
Balangauan scored identical rounds of 39 points while junior golfer Angela Mangana shot 38 and 35, Andrew Cañete fired 36 and 42 and Pio Barandog made 40 and 45. The team fired rounds of 153 and 161 for a total of 314 points.
The tournament used the full-handicap Modified Stableford Scoring System with all four members counting for the team total. The Corn Tee is CFIC’s annual signature tournament.
The Division B title went to the team led by Boboy Durano with 296 points on rounds of 144 and 152.
Durano made 38 and 39, Byeon Kwang Wook had 37 and 34, Jose Abellana 41 and 39, and Julie Garcia shot 28 and 40.
Runner-up honors for Division B went to the team of Razi Razon with a total of 295 points (141-154).

Another team led by Durano ruled Division C with 302 points.
Since club members are allowed to have more than one team, they will play only two rounds during the four day period and their score for all their teams will be the same.
Individual awards went to Jun-jun Cabajar for the lowest gross and Johnah Abella for the lowest net.
Tournament sponsors include Plantation Bay, Petron, Genvi Development Corp., Carlos Gothong Shipping Lines, Duros Land Properties, Cebu Mitsumi Inc., Pagcor Mactan, Pepsi Cola, and Koppel.
The winning team received their prizes from the board of directors of Club Filipino Incorporada de Cebu. The members of the Division A champion team are (from 3rd from left) Andrew Cañete, Angela Mangana, Baltaire Balangauan and Pio Barandog.
