Red Cross Lapu-Cor­dova chap­ter fun run aim­ing for world record

THE Philip­pine Red Cross is again aim­ing to set world records for hav­ing the largest run­ning event, largest hu­man Red Cross em­blem and most num­ber of peo­ple blow­ing whis­tles.

Philip­pine Red Cross’ “Mil­lion Vol­un­teer Run” will take place on Oc­to­ber 21 and 22 in dif­fer­ent places na­tion­wide aim­ing to get a mil­lion run­ners.

In Cebu, the fun run will be on Oc­to­ber 22, Sun­day. It will start at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City with routes go­ing to Cor­dova area.

Run cat­e­gories in­clude 3K, 5K and 16K with regis­tra­tion fees of P350, P500 and P650 re­spec­tively.

Regis­tra­tion in­cludes sin­glet, race bib and PRC Bronze mem­ber­ship, which en­ti­tles the holder of a re­fund of ac­ci­dent ex­penses within a pe­riod of one year.

Vic Jay Gon­zal, ad­min­is­tra­tor of Philip­pine Red Cross Lapu-Lapu/Cor­dova chap­ter, said the pro­ceeds of the event will be used in dif­fer­ent ac­tiv­i­ties like train­ings and sem­i­nars and blood­let­ting, among oth­ers.

Gon­zal in­vites com­pa­nies, lo­cal gov­ern­ment units, stu­dents and run­ning en­thu­si­asts and to join the event and be part of the world record.
