Cebu Daily News - - COMMUNITY -

A FIVE-YEAR old boy from Macabug, Ormoc City, Leyte is in need of financial assistance for his chemotherapy treatment.

Gabriel Almond was recently diagnosed with acute l ymphoblastic leukemia, a cancer of the blood and bone marrow which has a high chance of cure when proper treatment is administered.

Gabriel has to undergo three years or more of chemotherapy sessions on a regular basis with daily oral medications and frequent laboratory workups. Gabriel has to stay in Cebu for several months for the early stages of his chemotherapy.

Considering the duration and cost of the entire treatment, Gabriel’s mother seeks help from kindhearted individuals. His mother is a single mom of three children and currently un- employed, while his father is an American citizen working as a company driver, earning a meager income.

The family’s resources are not enough to fund Gabriel’s medication. Their small sarisari store was also closed for Gabriel’s treatment.
