Sharks go for five straight

THE CEBU City Sharks-Casino Ethyl Alcohol will put their four-game winning streak on the line today when they tangle with the San Juan Knights in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Datu Cup at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan City.

Their recent surge has given the Sharks a 5-8 winloss record, putting them in the middle of the pack in the South division of this league founded by boxing superstar, Manny Pacquiao.

The team’s resident sniper, Patrick Jan Cabahug, believes that the team is ready to take on a Knights team that has done well in this tournament and currently sits in third place in the North division with their 10-3 card.

“Just like all our other games, we have mentally prepared ourselves to face our opponents. I think it is crucial not to categorize our opponents based on levels of difficulty but to take it as challenge to grow as a team,” bared Cabahug, who actually went scoreless in the Sharks’ last game, which Cebu City still won over the Pasig Pirates, 56-53.
