HOW it all began: PERKS of THE Job: “It’s hearing different stories of how much guests appreciate what we do and the service we provide. But most of all, it’s seeing my bartenders and baristas excel at their craft. Seeing them shine at The Curator and in competitions is very rewarding.”
“There are challenges all day, every day! Juggling different responsibilities was something I had to get used to at the beginning. It may look easy, but there’s a lot of back work that needs to be established to maintain a certain level of quality.”
“Prepare yourself for a lot of hard work and dedication! It doesn’t get easier—okay, maybe sometimes it does—but it does become more fulfilling as you see your passions come to life.”
Teaching kids and mixing cocktails isn’t a typical combination, but this preschool teacher and co-founder of The Curator Coffee and Cocktails blends the two with intoxicatingly good results.
“Passion is what drove me and my partners to open both the 9th Avenue School and The Curator. I know it seems funny that I teach children during the day, and tinker with cocktails at night, but it works! With The Curator, we’ve always wanted a space that serves coffee and cocktails with intent and passion.”
