Happiness is…

Going to THE Cinemas alone Alone time is great! It’s necessary for you to get things done and for your mind to take a breather. People often ask me why I’m out alone, or why I don’t have a ton of friends, and it’s because I need only a few good people in my life for me to be content. If I did have a bigger circle then I wouldn’t have time to go to the gym or be at peace with myself. Then I’d just get stressed, and I just don’t need that!

Enjoying THE GREAT outdoors

With fresh air, greenery, and nature, what more do you need? It’s calming to me. When I lived in Australia, I made an effort to do activities like bike riding, kayaking, trampolining—something different every weekend, because I was at the office on weekdays.

staying Fit

I feel good when I’m moving my body—i love the feeling of achieving something productive. What’s better than working on yourself and making yourself the best ‘you’ you can be? I especially love swimming. It’s a great full-body workout that’s not too strenuous, as you are being supported by the water. The feeling of just floating in water after a session is so relaxing, too.

Honing YOUR skills

I’ve been attending various workshops to up my skill set—everything from dance, to Tagalog, to hosting. Dance has allowed me to get to know and use my body in a way I don’t usually do. My teacher is trying to help me loosen up and be more feminine. When I first started, he would say with a look of disbelief, “Girl… lalakikatalaga.” [Laughs.] I don’t aim to be a professional dancer, but I do enjoy it. It gets me moving and I have fun, so I’ll keep going as long as I can. It definitely gets harder every week: when I take two steps forward I feel like I’m taking another step back, but it’s great and it pushes me.

sticking to and ACHIEVING YOUR Goals

I struggle in this department! So when I’m kicking goals, I am proud and all smiles. It takes determination—i believe no one will give their 110% unless they really want to. I’m putting everything I have into my goals: fitness, well-being, and work. I’m proud of my well-being over everything. I’m in such a good place, and it wasn’t easy or quick, but I’m here now and so happy for it.
