NOMNOMNOM HAPPY FOOD

CONTINENTAL

Eats - - QUEZON CITY -

Since 2008, Nomnomnom Happy Food has become a place worth hunting down, especially for health buffs. It serves a variety of food that is touted to make you feel happier, thus the name. For example, it serves Amazon Hemp Acai Berry shakes, which are thought to have restorative powers. A big draw for the foodie crowd is its wide variety of appetizers, which they call maliNOMNOM na mga pulutan. Popular choices are the Fourplay, a platter of pita chips served with salsa, hummus, mutabal, and roasted garlic, as well as good-for-you entrees like creamy Squashing Pumpkins soup, Pesto Garlic Mushrooms, their towering Mushroom Burger, and Calzone stuffed with Spinach and Cheese. Another dish of the restaurant that had some people buzzing is their own take for sisig, wherein they use tofu instead of pork. Be warned, there are also guilty pleasures that are to be had here such as deep fried Ravioli, a Mighty Mousse (chocolate mousse laced with dark chocolate sauce), and the Peach Drunk Love – "ambéed peaches in rum sauce with butter cake and vanilla ice cream. The restaurant has a young vibe and holds acoustic nights and movie screenings usually accompanied by a buffet, complimented by its bright interiors, long benches and a tall wooden open bar area. The laid-back atmosphere can be attributed to its owners, one of them Karl Medina, who is an artist at heart and owns a skateboard shop, Skate of the Nation, as well.
