FILIPINO

Eats - - QUEZON CITY -

Uno Restaurant is one of the dining stalwarts in the Tomas Morato area, having held !rm for almost 15 years despite other restos popping up left and right. Dotted with wooden tables and chairs, Uno is de!nitely a perfect hangout place. Because of its large windows, the insides are bathed in light during the day. All of these elements contribute to a homey and cozy atmosphere. One will !nd themselves lingering and relishing every moment of their meal, so it’s not a surprise if they would discover that they’ve extended their meal time to two hours or more. Owner and chef Jose Mari Relucio, one of the renowned culinary !gures in the metro, has maintained the intimate nature of Uno Restaurant. As an added appeal, their menu is known to be well-balanced. Chef Mari experiments with a smooth mix of Asian and Western pieces. Frequent diners tend to have their favorite go-to items on the menu. Since their menu varies every few months, there may be times when their favorites are not included. An interesting tidbit is that if they get to request for this dish, the kitchen staff would be able to prepare it for them whenever all ingredients are available. Uno’s diners can buy some of their heavenly cakes and breads to bring home as pasalubong.
