We all have fond mem­o­ries of gath­er­ing around the din­ing ta­ble and play­ing the clas­sics—mo­nop­oly, Snakes and Lad­ders, Bat­tle­ship—but with the ad­vent of the dig­i­tal era, most of us moved on from th­ese card­board based games to­wards the likes of Mario and Sonic the Hedge­hog. And yet some­how, the hy­per-evo­lu­tion of video games are mak­ing gamers yearn for a sim­pler time, hence the grow­ing resur­gence of table­top gam­ing. Fu­elling this re­nais­sance here are board game cafes and a hand­ful of shops that make it eas­ier for peo­ple to pur­chase games that were pre­vi­ously un­avail­able lo­cally. Not only are we play­ing more, we're also start­ing to cre­ate our own games with lo­cal de­sign­ers and pub­lish­ers re­leas­ing games such as Darna at ang Nawawalang Bato and Hu­got. So for those of you ea­ger to get back to (or start) play­ing table­top games, here’s a list of games that go be­yond Mo­nop­oly:
