The Way To Glow (According To Experts)
Three of the industry’s top wedding makeup artists share their secrets to looking your freshest, sans a glam squad. Choose from these three everyday makeup looks, or try them all! The artist: Jigs Mayuga Years in the biz: 13 years His style: Clean and mod
IT’S ALL ABOUT AN EVEN BASE. His freshness secret? Jigs prefers using a mix of correctors instead of a concealer for a more natural look. “I used a combination of orange and peach correctors to neutralize the discoloration under the model’s eyes,” he says. “Then I applied a very thin layer of foundation mixed with a little moisturizer over the corrector and all over the face.” The result? A gorgeously even and dewy complexion.
STAY CLASSY WITH EARTH TONES. Jigs says you can’t go wrong with warm eye shadow tones—he used a warm brown, a subtle gold, and a burnt orange. “But if you’re in a hurry, just use an eye shadow stick in warm gold, apply all over your lids, and blend with your fingers,” he says. Finish off with a little eyeliner and mascara, and you’re done.
SAY YES TO STROBING. Skip the contouring, which can look muddy, and just use a highlighter to add dimension to your face, says Jigs. “I used a powder highlighter applied with a small highlighting brush. After you’ve done the rest of your makeup, just apply highlighter on the high points of the cheeks, a little bit on the nose, and on the cupid’s bow.”
