ASUS Zenfone 3 MAX

HWM (Philippines) - - Test -

The ASUS Zenfone 3 Max stands out in the lot because of its silver color scheme. Its seemingly metallic chassis has the most rounded edges among the entries that we received. On the front, the handset brandishes a 5.5-inch IPS LCD touchscreen, which is the most common display size in this shootout. The display has a Full HD (1920 x 1080p) resolution and it looks brilliant whether you are just navigating through the apps, viewing photos, or watching a video on the phone. The Zenfone 3 Max is among the three phones that come with a Full HD screen in this batch.

Speaking of video, the phone’s graphics is backed by an Adreno 505 GPU along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor clocked at 1.4GHZ. It is not the fastest clocked handset in the group, but we can assure you thatat it is s snappy enough to support a variety ty of mobile activ activities. Software-wise, the Zenfone 3 Max runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with with ASUS ZENUI 3.0.

The Zenfone 3 Max is also among the phones with a rear camera that has the highest megapixel count in this lot: 16 megapixels. This is complemented with an 8-megapixel camera on the front, which is the most common among the handsets in this shootout. The phone’s camera UI is abundant with different modes and these are easy to access. The manual mode reveals that the phone has an ISO range between 100 to 1600. When taking a selfie in beautification mode, users are no longer required to go to a submenu just to adjust the timer of the camera. They just have to drag the shutter button of the camera to activate the timer. Options in beautification mode for smoothening the skin, adjusting the skin tone, and eye enlargement are also available and these can be easily adjusted.

The most overwhelming feature of the Zenfone 3 Max is its built-in battery with a rating of 4100mah. It is the phone with longest battery life in this lot. Auspiciously, it is also the most affordable, having a launch price of PHP 10,995.
